Princess Enough

My second entry for the June 2013 Haven Monthly Caption Contest.

Transcript: I sighed as I looked around. I supposed things were going well; no one at the party had seen through my illusion yet, but going en femme to this costume party wasn’t all the flirty fun I had hoped it would be. Sure, I’d known not to expect a line of suitors when I’d arrived, but at least a guy or two to talk to would’ve been nice. Even if I had cobbled my costume together at the last minute, I didn’t think I made that bad of a princess, especially considering the fact that I wasn’t even a girl. A few hours spent in front of the vanity with makeup, hair extensions, and a few other special tools however gave the appearance that I was and so far no one had questioned it.

I was about to give up and leave when suddenly a handsome stranger, who looked like he could’ve been a Disney prince straight out from one of their movies approached me. Introducing himself as Roger, he skillfully struck up a conversation, asking me what I was dressed up as.

I gave him my best royal pout, “Can’t you tell?”

“Ah, a princess.” I smiled and nodded. Roger briefly paused before asking me his next question. “Forgive me if you think my words too bold, but may I inquire as to the whereabouts of your prince?”

I tried to hide the surge of blood rushing to my cheeks, “Still waiting for him to find me…unfortunately.”

“Oh what a pity.” Roger didn’t seem very upset however. “Mind if I wait with you until he arrives then?”

I giggled. Roger was a smooth one. “Not at all,” I answered.

The two of us spent the next two hours deep in conversation, oblivious to all else despite the spirited crowd around us before we finally decided to find a more private room, which was where the real fun began. It wasn’t long before things started to get hot and heavy, but I was loving every minute of it. What girl after all wouldn’t enjoy being passionately ravished by a very handsome gentleman? But as his velvet hands crept up my creamy thighs, I knew I had to tell him my secret before he found out for himself. “Roger,” I began timidly, “can we stop for a moment? I need to tell you something before we continue.”

“M’lady, I’m all ears.” Roger sat attentively.

“I don’t know quite how to tell you this, but I’m not the princess you think I am. I was born a boy…and underneath the wig, the gown, and the makeup, I still am.” I blurted the last part out, my words as unpalatable in my mouth as vomit, out of fear of retribution and out of anguish for the truth.

Roger gently placed a hand on my neck, “Kathy, you’re gorgeous and a princess enough for me. If you want to stop, I’ll understand, but please know that I would love to try and be your Prince Charming if you’ll let me.”

His answer stunned me. Of all the answers I had been expecting, his would’ve been the furthest at the bottom. I was aware that my jaw had dropped open, but I was too occupied watching the pyrotechnic display in my head to care. Time seemed to slow as I gazed into his beautiful green eyes and for a moment all the world felt right. No amount of words could’ve described how I felt, so I decided to show him instead. As I kissed him passionately on the lips, our spark ignited into an inferno and just like that we were off again, but this time to his ‘castle’, where we would spend the entire night creating our own happily ever after. Happy endings, after all, are a princess’ specialty.

  1. A very sweet story, a touch of the erotic as well. I loved it! A princess should always get her prince.
